Two soldiers martyred in exchange of fire with terrorists in North Waziristan

Islamabad (Web Desk):Two soldiers of Pakistan Army have embraced martyrdom in a fire exchange that took place between terrorists and the Army troops on February 26 in general area Spinwam, North Waziristan District, the military's media wing said on Monday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location.

"During the clash, two terrorists were Killed, while two terrorists were apprehended by the troops. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens," the statement said.

The martyred soldiers were identified as 25-year-old Sepoy Imran Ullah from Bajaur and 21-year-old Sepoy Afzal Khan from Upper Dir.

The military's media wing said that the sanitisation of the area was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area.

"Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has paid homage to the soldiers who embraced martyrdom in exchange of fire with terrorists in Spinwam, North Waziristan.

In a statement on Monday, the premier extended his condolence to the bereaved families of martyrs and prayed for the departed souls.

PM Shehbaz also paid tribute to the security forces for the successful operation against the terrorists. He said our armed forces and law enforcement agencies are like a rock wall against nefarious designs of terrorists.

"Entire nation salutes its martyrs and standing shoulder to shoulder with its security forces," the premier said.
