Lahore (Web Desk): Ramadan 2017, 1438 AH moon expected to be sighted on the evening of May 27 and the first day of the holy month will begin on May 28 (Sunday), Director General Pakistan Meteorological Department Dr Ghulam Rasool stated on Friday.
According to details, the Central Reut–e-Hilal Committee meeting is scheduled to be held on May 26 (Friday) in Islamabad for sighting the crescent but the Met office stated that there are less chances of moon visibility on May 26.
An official of the Ministry of Religious Affairs told the media that the ministry had a detailed discussion with Popalzai regarding moon sighting. He agreed that the start of Ramazan and Eidul Fitr should be on the same dates across the country.
