Islamabad (Agencies): President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday strongly condemned the terrorist incident at a seminary in Peshawar.
In their separate messages, the president and the prime minister expressed grief over the loss of lives and prayed for the departed souls to rest in peace.
They prayed for the highest ranks for the martyrs and for early recovery of the injured.
President Dr Arif Alvi said that blast was "shocking and saddening for all of us". He called for the "heinous criminal terrorists" to be apprehended and given exemplary punishment.

In his tweet, Prime Minister Imran Khan assured the nation that terrorists responsible for this cowardly barbaric attack will be brought to justice.

At least eight people were killed and more than 100 were injured in an explosion at a seminary in Peshawar’s Dir Colony on Tuesday.
According to police, the initial reports suggest that an improvised explosive device (IED) was used in the explosion that took place in the main hall of the madrasa (Seminary).
They added that five kilograms of explosives were used in the blast.
Meanwhile, the United Nations (UN) Office in Pakistan, while condemning the incident, said it was "appalled" by the attack.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz strongly condemned the blast and said that those behind the attack on students have nothing to do with humanity.

Federal Minister for Interior Ijaz Shah, while condemning the blast, vowed not to spare those involved in the blast.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar also condemned the incident.

Moreover, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif also condemned the blast, saying that those who targeted the madressah "could not be Muslims".

PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz also condemned the explosion at the seminary and condoled with the victims and their families.

MNA Mohsin Dawar condemned the blast, saying "neither our schools nor madressahs are safe".
"We have been warning against the regrouping of terrorists in our areas. All terrorist networks need to be dismantled fully," he said.
