Islamabad (Web Desk): The United States (US) has lauded Pakistan's efforts in compliance with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the steps taken by Pakistan on the matter of illegal immigrants.
The appreciation was made during a meeting between Interior Minister Brig (R) Ijaz Ahmad Shah and Acting Assistant Secretary of State Alice Wells.
The US delegation was about the briefed significant progress on both legislative and administrative matters. It was informed that the execution process has also been completed to a greater extent in this regard.
Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Alice Wells arrived in Islamabad on Sunday for a four-day visit, which diplomatic sources termed crucial just ahead of the possible peace deal between the US and Afghan Taliban.
The visit is part of her 10-day tour of the region, during which she has already been to Sri Lanka and India before her arrival in Pakistan.
