Lahore (Staff Report): Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) starts investigations to know the reality of the allegation against Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi for receiving gifts worth Rs16 million during his top position in the PCB, media sources reported on Friday.
The list issued by FBR compiles over 200 people to be investigated under their framework of accountability, Sethi however, has declared gifts worth mentioned above.
The internal sources told correspondent that prior to this development FBR would probe the entire list of people and if the gifts are turned out to be illegal FBR would take legal action against them.
In August this year, Sheheryar Khan’s resigned from the post and Sethi became the PCB Chairman second time on a promise to restore the International Cricket in the country and promote Pakistani cricket around the world along with better performing team.
If FBR gets a firm evidence any money laundering under the ‘gifts’ scheme, Najam Sethi, along with 20 others, are feared to face the same consequences.
