Iran announces new body to manage Strait of Hormuz

Tehran (Web Desk): Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has announced the establishment of a new institution to manage and monitor the Strait of Hormuz, according to foreign media reports.

The council said the newly formed body aims to oversee maritime activities in the strategic waterway and ensure the timely sharing of real-time operational information.

Reports state that the institution, named the “Persian Gulf Strait Authority,” will be responsible for monitoring developments and providing up-to-date data related to operations in the Strait of Hormuz.

In an official social media statement, Iranian authorities said the initiative is intended to enhance maritime surveillance, streamline information exchange, and better organize affairs related to the sensitive sea route.
