Multan (Web Desk): Sajid Khan delivered an outstanding performance on day three of the second Test in Multan, taking seven wickets as England was bowled out for 291.

This left them trailing Pakistan's first innings total of 366 by 75 runs.

The 31-year-old off-spinner shone in the morning session, claiming three of the four wickets that fell, finishing with impressive figures of 7 for 111.

England resumed their innings at 239 for 6 but added just nine runs before Sajid struck early, dismissing Brydon Carse, who was caught at long-on for just four runs.

In his next over, he bowled Matthew Potts with a delivery that turned sharply, sending him back for six runs.

Noman Ali contributed to the bowling attack as well, taking his 50th Test wicket by dismissing Jamie Smith, who was caught at mid-off by Saim Ayub for 21.

The last pair, Shoaib Bashir and Jack Leach, managed to add 29 runs before Sajid had Bashir caught at short mid-wicket for nine runs, bringing England’s innings to a close. Leach remained unbeaten on 25, hitting three fours along the way.

After winning the first Test by an innings and 47 runs, England lead the three-match series 1-0, making Pakistan's fightback in this match all the more crucial.
