Multan (Web Desk/Agencies): Debutant Kamran Ghulam scored a brilliant 118 runs to help Pakistan reach 259 for 5 on the opening day of the second Test against England in Multan on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old's innings, which included 11 fours and a six, was crucial in stabilizing Pakistan's innings.
Kamran shared a 149-run partnership with opener Saim Ayub, who scored 77 runs, and later added 65 runs with Mohammad Rizwan, who remained unbeaten on 37 at stumps, with Salman Agha on 5 at the other end.
Kamran Gham has become 13th Pakistani batter who scored century on debut match.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first against England in the second Test match at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
It is pertinent to mention that England’s captain Ben Stokes is making a comeback after missing the first Test due to a hamstring injury. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed his return ahead of the match.
As per the announcement regarding Pakistan squad on Sunday, star batters, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah have been excluded from second Test.
Three spinners, including Sajid Khan, Zahid Mahmood and Noman Ali and only one pace bowler, Aamer Jamal have been included in the squad.
England are leading the series 1-0 following victory over Pakistan by an inning and 47 runs in the first Test match.
