2nd ODI: Pakistan defeat Bangladesh by 128 runs 

Dhaka (Web Desk): Pakistan staged a spectacular comeback in the second match of the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Bangladesh, defeating the hosts by a commanding 128 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method and leveling the series 1-1 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.

After winning the toss, Bangladesh decided to bowl first against Pakistan.

The Green shirts’ innings ended at 274 all out in 48 overs. Young batsman Maaz Siddiqui emerged as the star of the innings, scoring a blistering 75 runs off just 46 balls, including five sixes and six fours.

Salman Ali Agha contributed a solid 64, while Mohammad Rizwan added 44 and Sahibzada Farhan 31, providing crucial support. Bangladesh’s Rashid Hasan took three wickets and Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed two.

Rain disrupted play after Pakistan’s innings, leading the umpires to revise Bangladesh’s target to 243 runs in 32 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis method. In pursuit of this challenging total, the Bangladeshi batting lineup struggled to gain momentum.

Led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, the Pakistani bowlers maintained relentless pressure, dismissing the entire team for just 114 runs in 24 overs, securing a dominant 128-run victory.

Bangladesh had won the first ODI convincingly by eight wickets, taking an early lead in the series.

However, Pakistan’s emphatic performance in the second match has set up a thrilling conclusion, with the series now to be decided in the final and decisive ODI.
