Lahore (Web Desk): Cricket is set to return to the Olympic Games after 128 years, marking a major milestone for the sport, as qualification details for the Los Angeles Olympics 2028 have officially been approved.
According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), the qualification structure for cricket at the 2028 Olympics has been finalized in coordination with the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The ICC confirmed that both men’s and women’s T20 cricket events will be included in the Games, with six teams competing in each category.
For the first time, the ICC also announced that a dedicated Olympic qualification tournament will be held in 2027 to determine participating teams for the event.
Cricket’s inclusion in the Olympics is being widely seen as a historic development, expected to significantly boost the global reach and popularity of the sport.
