Donald Trump urges Israel to hit Iran's nuclear facilities first, worry about rest later

Raleigh, North Carolina (Web Desk): Former US president and candidate for the White House in upcoming presidential election, Donald Trump, has urged Israel to target Iran's nuclear installations in response to the Islamic Republic’s recent missile attacks.

His statement comes in response to President Joe Biden's assertion that, given the rising tensions between Israel and Iran, a "all-out war" is improbable and ought to be avoided in the Middle East.

The former president was referring to a query posed to President Biden about the possibility of Israel targeting Iran's nuclear facilities in response to the 200-missile attack.

"They asked him, what do you think about Iran? Would you hit Iran? And he goes, 'As long as they don’t hit the nuclear stuff'. That’s the thing you want to hit, right?" Trump stated.

"Isn't that what you're supposed to hit?" he continued. I mean, nuclear weapons are the largest peril we face." In reference to the US elections scheduled for November 5, the Republican contender for President stated that Biden ought to have requested Israel to strike Iran's nuclear facilities and "worry about everything else later".

"If they’re going to do it, they’re going to do it. But we’ll find out whatever their plans are," Trump added.

The 78-year-old made the statement the day after President Joe Biden declared it improbable that there would be a "all-out war" in the Middle East. "How confident are you that it's not going to rain?"

Biden was asked, in reference to how certain he was about a major battle breaking out in the Middle East as Lebanon and Iran attempt to corner Israel. Look, I don't think a full-scale conflict is going to break out. We can, I believe, avert it."

Responding to a question whether he would send American troops to help Israel, he said "We have already helped Israel. We are going to protect Israel."

It is pertinent to mention that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, referred to Iran's strike on Israel as "legal and legitimate" and the least retribution for "Israel's crimes" in his first Friday sermon in five years.

"Israel kills civilians and causes destruction, bombs, and assassinations in the pretense of winning. The motivation of the opposition was heightened by this behavior. This truth demonstrates to us that every attack on Israel by any group benefits the area and all of humanity," Khamenei said.

This was first sermon by Iranian supreme leader since 2020, just a few days before the one-year anniversary of Hamas' attack on Israel.
