Iranian President Pezeshkian offers condolences, assistance to Pakistan amid devastating floods

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a phone call on Friday from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, who extended heartfelt condolences to the people of Pakistan in light of the widespread destruction caused by the ongoing floods across various regions of the country.

During the conversation, President Pezeshkian expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property, conveying solidarity with the affected families.

He affirmed Iran’s readiness to support Pakistan during this difficult period and offered any possible assistance for the flood-stricken communities.

PM expressed his sincere gratitude for the Iranian leader’s compassion and supportive message, describing it as a testament to the longstanding and brotherly relations shared between Pakistan and Iran.

He also asked that his cordial greetings and best wishes be passed on to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatullah Ali Khamenei.

Both leaders used the occasion to reiterate their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation and further deepening bilateral ties. They also looked forward to meeting in person at the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit scheduled to take place in Tianjin, China.
