Lahore (Web Desk): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced the 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2024.

The players in the squad include, Babar Azam (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Khan.

Of the 15 players, Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Saim Ayub and Usman Khan have been picked for their maiden T20 World Cup, while Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim last appeared in the 2016 and 2021 tournaments, respectively. The other eight players participated in the 2022 event in Australia.

As per the schedule, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup would be played from June 1 to 29 with co-hosts USA taking on Canada in the opening fixture at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.
A total of 55 matches would be played by 20 teams across nine venues, culminating in the final on June 29 in Barbados.

The historic first match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium would be played on June 3 between 2014 champions Sri Lanka and South Africa with 10 teams to feature across eight matches in New York.
