Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace in the region, assuring the Iranian leadership that Islamabad will continue playing a constructive role.
He conveyed these remarks during a telephonic conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.
During the discussion, PM Shehbaz shared with the Iranian President the diplomatic outreach efforts of Pakistan’s leadership.
He expressed deep concern over the ongoing perilous hostilities in the Gulf region and highlighted the urgent need for all neighboring countries to work together to de-escalate tensions and revive dialogue and diplomacy.
The prime minister also emphasized the vital importance of unity within the Ummah, noting that solidarity is needed now more than ever.
He extended Pakistan’s support to the Iranian people amid the hostilities, offering heartfelt condolences for the lives lost and prayers for the recovery and safety of those injured or displaced.
PM Shehbaz conveyed greetings for Eid-ul-Fitr and Nowruz to President Pezeshkian and the people of Iran.
The Iranian President responded warmly, reciprocating the greetings and sending his best wishes to the people of Pakistan.
