DPM Dar in Egypt to attend R-4 foreign ministers' meeting

Cairo (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in Cairo, Egypt, where he will take part in the Regional Foreign Ministers’ Meeting being held on Sunday.

Upon arrival, he was received by Assistant Foreign Minister for Policy Planning, Research, Crisis Management and Assessments Nazih El Naggary, along with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Egypt Aamir Shouket.

During the visit, Ishaq Dar is also scheduled to engage in separate bilateral meetings with his counterparts on the sidelines of the conference.

The meeting will bring together the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan to review regional developments and exchange views on matters related to peace, security, and regional stability.

Building on earlier rounds of discussions, the participating ministers are expected to explore ways to further strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

During his visit, Ishaq Dar will also hold bilateral talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty and is scheduled to call on President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The discussions will focus on enhancing Pakistan-Egypt relations across multiple sectors, along with consultations on regional and international issues of shared concern.

Pakistan has reiterated that it attaches high importance to its relations with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye.

The R-4 framework reflects the member states’ commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and coordinated efforts for promoting peace and prosperity in the region.
