Pakistan will not tolerate use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities inside Pakistan: CDF Asim Munir

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has stressed that Pakistan will not tolerate the use of Afghan territory for acts of terrorism targeting its people.

The Field Marshal was speaking during a meeting with Ahl-e-Tashayyu Ulema in Rawalpindi, where discussions focused on national security, societal harmony, and the role of religious scholars in promoting unity.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eliminating terrorists and their infrastructure wherever they operate through precise, intelligence-based operations. He underlined that the Afghan Taliban must ensure that Afghan soil is not used to launch attacks against Pakistan.

Highlighting the crucial role of Ulema, Field Marshal Munir emphasized their responsibility in fostering unity, tolerance, and national cohesion, particularly in countering misinformation, sectarian narratives, and externally supported destabilization attempts.

He noted that religious sentiments must not be exploited to incite violence and that acts of violence in Pakistan, based on events elsewhere, will not be tolerated.

The Field Marshal also highlighted Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy aimed at regional de-escalation and reiterated that the country’s stability and unity remain paramount.

The participating Ulema expressed their support for peace and stability, condemning any violence in the name of religion.

They praised the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs and lauded the Armed Forces for managing regional tensions. Special messages emphasizing national integrity and unity were also recorded during the meeting.

Chairman Wahdat Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Zahid Abbas Kazmi, assured full support to the Pakistan Army, saying the fight against terrorism is a national struggle.

He condemned recent attacks on military installations in Gilgit-Baltistan and dissociated such elements from the nation.
