Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan has opted to briefly suspend its ongoing “Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq,” which has been directed against militant groups and their logistical networks operating inside Afghanistan.
The announcement was made by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar in a message shared on X.

He explained that the decision to pause the operation was taken in consideration of the forthcoming Islamic festival of Eid-ul-Fitr, as well as following requests from friendly Islamic countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkiye.
The minister specified that the suspension will come into effect at midnight between March 18 and 19, 2026, and will continue until midnight between March 23 and 24, 2026.
He stressed that the move is being undertaken as a gesture of goodwill and in line with Islamic values.
However, the information minister warned that if any cross-border aggression, drone strike, or terrorist incident occurs within Pakistan, Operation Ghazab lil-Haq will be promptly resumed with greater intensity.
Separately, the information minister stated that during the ongoing Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, Pakistan’s security forces have reportedly killed 707 Afghan Taliban fighters, while over 938 others have been injured.
Shared the latest figures on his X account, the minister stated that 255 enemy check posts have been destroyed and 44 more have been seized by Pakistani forces.
The minister also highlighted that 237 tanks, armoured vehicles, and artillery guns have been eliminated in the course of the operation. Air operations have targeted 81 terrorist hideouts and support facilities across Afghanistan, striking at key locations used by militants.

On Monday night, Pakistan’s armed forces carried out precise attacks on Afghan military sites in Kabul and Nangarhar, destroying drone storage facilities, technical support infrastructure, and ammunition depots that were reportedly being used by the Taliban and other terrorist groups to plan attacks against Pakistani civilians.
Meanwhile, Taliban positions in Bajaur, Kurram, Torkham, Khyber, and both North and South Waziristan have also been successfully neutralized.
The security sources said that these operations avoided civilian populations and infrastructure, countering misleading claims circulated by Afghan officials and certain media outlets.
