Operation Ghazab lil-Haq: 133 militants killed, over 200 injured as Pakistan destroys key Taliban military Installations in Afghanistan

Islamabad (Web Desk): Islamabad: Pakistan’s armed forces have launched a major military operation, codenamed “Ghazab lil Haq,” in response to unprovoked aggression by the Afghan Taliban along the border.

The operation was initiated after attacks on Pakistani military posts and civilian areas in frontier regions.

According to security sources, at least 133 Taliban fighters were killed and more than 200 wounded during the course of the action.

Military officials stated that Pakistani troops destroyed multiple Taliban positions, with 27 check posts completely demolished and nine others taken over. Key military infrastructure was also targeted, including corps headquarters, battalion headquarters, arms depots and other strategic installations.

The Pakistan Air Force played a significant role in the campaign, carrying out precision airstrikes against Taliban military facilities.

In Afghanistan’s provinces of Nangarhar, Kabul, Kandahar and Paktia, aerial assaults reportedly destroyed two brigade headquarters, one corps headquarters and a logistics base.

Security sources further said that more than 80 Taliban tanks, artillery pieces and armored vehicles were eliminated.

Cross-border firing from Taliban positions was reported in Pakistan’s border districts, particularly in Bajaur, the Tirah region of Khyber, and Chitral sectors.

Pakistani forces responded with retaliatory fire, targeting and destroying several Taliban check posts. In Bajaur’s Laghari area and surrounding localities, mortar shells landed in civilian zones, injuring five people, including three women.

Security forces continued operations in multiple sectors, striking Taliban hideouts in Kurram, Paktika and Mohmand. In these engagements, eight more Taliban fighters were killed and several others injured. Pakistani troops also claimed to have destroyed key Taliban military installations and a corps headquarters in Paktika.

During the offensive, Taliban fighters reportedly abandoned several positions in an attempt to retreat. Pakistani forces pursued them and dismantled the vacated strongholds, according to official accounts.

Security sources added that the Afghan Taliban were attempting to conceal battlefield losses by circulating misleading claims and fabricated videos on social media. Pakistani authorities, however, maintained that the armed forces remain fully prepared to respond swiftly and decisively to any act of aggression.

Following the military action, Taliban forces allegedly intensified shelling targeting civilian areas inside Pakistan.

In Bajaur, additional mortar rounds wounded five civilians, including three women, while a local mosque sustained structural damage, with parts of its roof and walls affected.

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar described the operation as a strong and comprehensive response to Taliban aggression.

He stated that Pakistani forces had destroyed 27 Taliban posts and taken control of nine others, in addition to demolishing two corps headquarters, three brigade headquarters, two arms depots and three battalion headquarters.

He also reiterated claims that more than 80 tanks, artillery systems and armored vehicles had been destroyed.

Tarar emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces had acted with professionalism and resolve in defending the country’s sovereignty, reaffirming that the nation remains fully prepared to counter any future aggression with force and determination.
