Islamabad (Web Desk): Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday said that the government has decided to re-launch laptop scheme for the university students with a budget of Rs10 billion.
Addressing an event in the federal capita, the minister said that under this scheme, 100,000 laptops will be provided to the students on merit to digitally empower them.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has also been asked to develop laptop leasing products so that every university student has access to affordable laptop.
"Given the size of young population, Pakistan can turn information technology into one of its competitive advantages," the planning minister noted.
