PM Shehbaz launches Youth Laptop Scheme 2025, vows to invest in education & technology

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan’s youth, particularly students, are the nation’s most valuable asset.

Speaking at the launch of the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, he emphasized that even spending billions of rupees on students would be a worthwhile investment, considering their potential to shape Pakistan’s future.

The prime minister extended his appreciation to the bright students, their parents, and teachers for their dedication, noting that their hard work is bringing honor to Pakistan globally. He commended the students who have excelled in various fields and expressed pride in their achievements.

Addressing the gathering, PM Shehbaz Sharif revealed that since 2011, the government has invested over 50 billion rupees in the laptop scheme. However, he stated that even an investment of 500 billion rupees would still be insufficient when it comes to securing a brighter future for the students.

He suggested a unique idea for the laptop scheme, proposing that instead of promoting logos, the laptops should feature the images of the students receiving them. This would symbolize the hope that these students, equipped with technology, will lead Pakistan toward a prosperous future.

The prime minister further highlighted the success of Pakistan’s youth on the global stage. He noted that many Pakistani students had recently returned from Saudi Arabia, where billions of dollars are being invested in Artificial Intelligence (AI). He stressed the need for Pakistan to embrace similar advancements in education and technology to ensure sustainable growth and development for the country.

With a focus on investing in the future, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for a stronger commitment to education and technological progress to help Pakistan unlock new opportunities for development and rise as a leader in the global landscape.
