Pakistan Armed Forces taught India lesson during May 6-10 war that Modi govt will never forget: PM

Haripur (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said that Armed Forces of Pakistan had taught India, a lesson during My 6-10 war that Modi-led Indian government would never forget.

He was speaking at a laptop distribution event held at the University of Haripur.

PM Shehbaz said the nation had turned to Allah Almighty in prayer at a critical moment, and those prayers were answered with honour and dignity for Pakistan, an honor he said continues to be upheld and respected.

Referring to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the prime minister described the province as home to courageous and steadfast people who have stood firm against terrorism for many years.

He paid homage to the sacrifices of police and security personnel, saying the country’s survival and stability are built on their relentless commitment.

Announcing an expansion of the laptop scheme in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), PM Shehbaz said that investing in young people was the cornerstone of national progress.

PM Shehbaz recalled that during his time as chief minister of Punjab, he had arranged for 600 students to be sent abroad to learn the Chinese language.

The prime minister stressed that Pakistan could only achieve lasting strength if all four provinces moved forward together.

He said that 600,000 laptops had already been distributed strictly on merit and said the government now planned to send students from across the country overseas for specialized training in artificial intelligence.

Addressing demands raised by the local community, he announced the establishment of a Daanish School in Haripur on the pattern of similar institutions in Punjab, with separate campuses for boys and girls.

He also accepted the proposal for a women’s campus at the University of Haripur and assured that work on it would begin swiftly.

Speaking about the broader challenges facing the country, PM Shehbaz referred to the fragile economy and the urgent need to equip the workforce with modern skills.

He highlighted sectors such as information technology, agriculture and mining, and emphasized closing the gap between the abilities of young people and the evolving needs of industry.

“We have managed to steer the economy away from the risk of default, and now our focus must shift to accelerating growth. This will only be possible through modern skills, with the youth playing a leading role,” he said.

PM Shehbaz added that delegations from all provinces would be sent to China to receive training in artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies for the benefit of the country.

Reaffirming his commitments, the prime minister said the proposed women’s campus in Haripur would be developed in a way that respected the cultural values of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upheld the ambitions of female students.

He also pledged to construct the Haripur Bridge to improve connectivity between educational institutions and ensure easier access to facilities.

PM Shehbaz called for unity and a renewed sense of purpose. He urged young Pakistanis to take inspiration from the philosophy of Allama Iqbal, who envisioned a nation led by confident and determined youth capable of meeting global challenges.

“We must face the challenges ahead with unity and resolve. The future of Pakistan lies with its young people, and they will carry the country to new and greater heights,” PM Shehbaz said.
