US President Trump hails joint defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye 

Washingtom (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump on Sunday welcomed the recent defence agreement signed by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye, describing the development as a positive step towards greater regional cooperation and security.

“Very happy to see that Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Pakistan have recently, and finally, signed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement,” he said in a post shared on his Truth Social account.

Trump said the agreement reflected growing unity among countries in the Middle East and could enhance their ability to protect themselves. “It shows how the Middle East is coming together, and how Countries will finally be able to defend themselves in a more meaningful way,” he added, describing the agreement as a “BIG, BOLD, IMPORTANT FIRST STEP”.

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye signed the trilateral defence agreement on August 7 as tensions and conflict involving the US and Iran have continued to affect the wider region, including through attacks carried out by Houthi rebels.

Under the agreement, the three countries seek to improve their collective deterrence capabilities, while a military assault on any one of the signatories would be regarded as an attack against all three members.
