PM Shehbaz arrives in Doha to discuss regional peace efforts with Qatri leadership

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha on Thursday as part of a three-country diplomatic tour focused on strengthening Pakistan’s foreign relations and advancing peace initiatives in the Middle East.

His landing in the Qatari capital marked the second phase of his April 15-18 visit, following a day-long stay in Saudi Arabia.

The trip comes as Islamabad intensifies engagement with key regional partners amid ongoing changes in the geopolitical landscape.

Upon his arrival at Doha International Airport, the prime minister and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.

A ceremonial guard of honour was also presented by a smartly dressed contingent of the Qatar Armed Forces, reflecting the importance Qatar places on the visit.

Pakistani flags were prominently displayed at the airport and in different parts of Doha on the occasion, highlighting the close and cordial ties between Pakistan and Qatar.

During his stay, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to meet Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in a bilateral engagement.

The talks will focus on further strengthening cooperation between the two countries, along with an exchange of views on Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at supporting peace at regional and global levels. 

The prime minister is being accompanied by a high-level delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and the prime minister’s spokesperson for international media, Mosharraf Zaidi.
