Pakistan Azerbaijan pledge to strengthen strategic partnership in diverse areas

Baku (Web Desk): Pakistan and Azerbaijan have pledged to enhance their strategic partnership across a range of areas, including economic, defense, and cultural ties.

The mutual commitment was formalized during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev during a meeting on the sidelines of the World Leaders Climate Action Summit (COP-29) in Baku.

PM Shehbaz extended his congratulations to President Aliyev for successfully hosting the summit, commending his leadership in advancing global cooperation to tackle the urgent challenges posed by climate change.

He acknowledged Aliyev’s vision in promoting international collaboration to mitigate environmental risks.

The premier pointed out that while Pakistan contributes minimally to global emissions, it remains one of the countries most severely impacted by climate change.

He reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to work closely with Azerbaijan and the international community to confront climate challenges and drive efforts for sustainable solutions.

Looking ahead, PM Shehbaz expressed confidence in furthering bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including technological exchange and collaborative initiatives in renewable energy.

The two leaders agreed on the need to build joint ventures in these areas to foster long-term growth and innovation.

The discussions also covered the worsening situation in the Middle East, along with other pressing regional and global issues.

PM Shehbaz and President Aliyev emphasized the importance of a coordinated approach to address these challenges, underscoring the value of strengthened ties between their two nations.
