Peshawar(Web Desk): In a joint operation conducted last night, the Police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) eliminated three militants in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while several others managed to escape with injuries.
According to security sources, the operation was launched in the forests of Khan Khel Mandzai after receiving intelligence reports about the presence of militants. During the operation, security personnel encountered resistance from over 20 armed militants.
The fierce gun battle lasted for nearly two hours, with heavy exchange of fire and weaponry from both sides. Local peace committee members and volunteers also extended their support to the forces during the encounter.
As a result, three militants were killed, while several others, despite being injured, managed to flee the area.
Authorities have confirmed that a search and clearance operation is still underway in the region to track down the remaining militants and ensure complete security in the area.
