Pakistan's high-level delegation in UK after 'successful engagements' in US 

London (Web Desk/Agencies): A nine-member high-level Pakistani delegation, led by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, arrived in London on Sunday after completing a series of successful diplomatic engagements in Washington and New York.

The delegation was constituted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with the mandate to articulate Pakistan’s position regarding the recent tensions with India and to underscore the urgency of resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Among the delegation are prominent political and diplomatic figures, including Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Masood Malik; Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Climate Change and former Minister for Information and Climate Change, Senator Sherry Rehman; Chairperson of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and former Foreign Minister, Hina Rabbani Khar; and former Minister for Commerce, Defence, and Foreign Affairs, Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan.

The delegation also includes Senator Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, MQM’s Parliamentary Leader in the Senate and former Minister for Maritime Affairs; and Senator Bushra Anjum Butt. Joining them are two seasoned diplomats and former foreign secretaries—Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani, who also served as caretaker Foreign Minister, and Ambassador Tehmina Janjua.

During the visit to London, the delegation is scheduled to meet with senior leadership of the UK Parliament, including members of the All-Party Parliamentary Groups on Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir.

Additionally, they will hold discussions with senior officials at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

The delegation will also engage with leading think tanks and international media organizations as part of its broader diplomatic outreach.

The delegation aims to highlight Pakistan’s principled and restrained response to India’s recent actions, which it describes as reckless and in violation of international law.

It will emphasize Pakistan’s commitment to seeking peace through responsible conduct and diplomacy, and the need for dialogue to take precedence over confrontation.

The delegation will further urge the international community to play its due role in fostering lasting peace in South Asia.

A key element of the delegation’s messaging will be the call for the immediate resumption of the normal functioning of the Indus Waters Treaty, which Pakistan views as essential to regional stability.
