Islamabad (Web Desk): Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief and presidential candidate for the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), Mahmood Khan Achakzai has asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to postponement presidential election, scheduled to be held on Saturday.
In a letter to ECP Achakzai said that numerous vacant reserve seats in both national and provincial assemblies.
The SIC presidential candidate argued that proceeding with the election without filling these seats would violate the law and the Constitution.
"The election should be postponed until the electoral college is completed," Achakzai stated firmly in his letter to the ECP.
Achakzai added that the SIC has submitted an application to the Peshawar High Court (PHC) regarding the matter of reserve seats. He expressed hopes for a fair decision from the court on this issue.

As per the ECP schedule, polling to elect 14th President of Pakistan for the next five years, will begin at 10am and conclude by 4pm.
The president is elected by an electoral college comprising members of the Senate, National Assembly and the four provincial assemblies. Voting is held through a secret ballot.
A joint session of the Parliament will be convened in Islamabad on Saturday during which the members of the National Assembly and the Senate will exercise their right to vote. Similar sessions will also be held in the provincial assemblies.
