Islamabad: Members of the National Assembly including PPP, SIC and others have strongly condemned the raid on residence of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party’s (PKMAP) chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai.
Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, Qaiser said, “A message was given that if someone makes a speech in the NA, his result will be this.”
“I want to make this clear; that time of fear has passed. We have come out of all situations,” the PTI MNA said while referring to the crackdown against the party during the past year.
Referring to the raid on Mahmood Achakzai’s residence last night, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, requested the NA speaker to give Achakzai a chance to speak.
Condemning the raid, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Hafiz Hamdullah said the raid at an elderly politician’s house exposed the puppets.
Quetta Deputy Commissioner Saad bin Asad said Achakzai had illegally occupied the government land by putting up walls. The Quetta DC confirmed that a person was arrested for pointing weapons at an assistant commissioner and interfering in a public affair.
The officer said the arrested person laced with illegal weapons was guarding the land.
Earlier, PTI-backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) candidate Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party’s (PKMAP) chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai submitted nomination paper for the slot of presidential.
Achakzai won the National Assembly seat from the NA-266 constituency in Balochistan’s Kila Abdullah-cum-Chaman.
