Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Pakistan beat South Africa by 95 runs in the second Test match in Rawalpindi on Monday sweeping the series 2-0.
In the second innings Pakistan set 370-run target for South Africa however, the Proteas were all out at 274 runs.
Opener Aiden Markram scored a fighting 108 and Temba Bavuma 61. They put on a 106-run stand for the fourth wicket to give Pakistan a scare.
Markram took a single off the last ball before lunch as South Africa reached the break on 219-3, needing 151 for a win.
Pakistan medium pacer Hasan Ali took career-best figures of 10-114 in the match as South Africa lost their last seven wickets for the addition of only 33 runs.
Hasan Ali’s new-ball partner Shaheen Shah Afridi finished with 4-51, while spinner Yasir Shah took the last wicket to spark jubilation among the Pakistan players.
It is the first tour by the South African side to Pakistan since 2007 as the two teams are play their first Test series in Pakistan after 14 years.
The 2-0 win is only Pakistan's second over South Africa in 12 Test series, having lost eight and drawn three.
Pakistan won the first Test by 7 wickets in Karachi.
Pakistan's only previous series win over South Africa was in a two-match series at home in 2003.
Three Twenty20 internationals will be played between Pakistan and South Africa in Lahore on February 11, 13 and 14 respectively.
