Islamabad: The United Kingdom (UK) has commended Pakistan for its efforts in mediation and highlighted Islamabad’s positive role in promoting global peace.
During a meeting in Islamabad between British High Commissioner Jane Marriott and Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik, both sides discussed opportunities to strengthen regulatory and institutional cooperation between Pakistan and the UK.
According to the statement, Jane Marriott praised Pakistan’s mediation efforts and said that Islamabad played an effective role by engaging constructively with Tehran and Washington.
Ali Pervez Malik emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to promoting peace and stability through dialogue and diplomatic channels. He also noted that timely actions ensured continuity in petroleum supplies.
He further stated that friendly countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE assisted in petroleum supplies, and that fertilizer prices in Pakistan remain one-third of those in neighboring countries.
