Lahore (Staff Report/Agencies): Business activities resumed across the province after the Punjab government ended a lockdown enforced on occasion of Eid-ul-Azha to prevent a spike in COVID-19 cases.

On July 27, the provincial government announced to keep the markets closed across the province from midnight tonight till August 5 in line with the government's measures to prevent spread of coronavirus during Eid-ul-Azha.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan on Monday rose to 280,029.
Overall, 121,486 cases were reported in Sindh, 93,197 in Punjab, 34,223 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11,774 in Balochistan, 15,076 in Islamabad, 2,180 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 2,093 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 5,984.
The National Command and Operation Center’s (NCOC) data shows that there has been an improvement in the number of recoveries from COVID-19 in the country with figure now reaching 248,873.
