Karachi (Web Desk): The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its upward momentum on Monday, with the 100-Index climbing by 1,078.15 points, or 1.19%, to close at 91,938.01 points, up from 90,859.85 points in the previous session.

The trading volume was robust, with 589,546,678 shares exchanged, an increase from 465,865,841 shares traded on the last day.

The total value of shares traded reached Rs29.959 billion, compared to Rs 23.089 billion previously.

In total, 445 companies participated in the market, with 258 seeing their share prices rise, while 140 faced declines.

The prices of 47 companies remained unchanged.

The top three companies by trading volume included Power Cement, with 56,698,604 shares traded at Rs7.12 each, K-Electric Limited with 38,931,623 shares at Rs4.85 each, and Maple Leaf with 36,957,197 shares at Rs41.53 each.

Indus Motor Company Limited experienced the most significant gain, with its share price increasing by Rs70.50 to finish at Rs1,989.28.

Following closely, Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited saw its share price rise by Rs63.75, closing at Rs7,505.35.
