PM Shehbaz holds key meeting with US President Trump, emphasizes boosting trade

Washington (Web Desk): Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, where both leaders emphasized strengthening Pak-U.S. relations and boosting trade between the two countries. The meeting was also attended by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The discussions took place in a cordial atmosphere, covering a range of topics including trade relations, energy projects, the impact of climate change, and regional economic development. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended a special invitation for investment in Pakistan’s IT and agriculture sectors, highlighting Pakistan as a rapidly emerging market with a youthful population and promising economic opportunities for the United States.

President Trump praised Pakistan’s economic potential and expressed America’s readiness to support Pakistan’s economic stability. He also commended Pakistan’s efforts in counterterrorism and the sacrifices of its security forces.

Prior to the meeting, President Trump welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, calling them “great leaders.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was given a red carpet reception at the Andrews Air Force Base by senior U.S. Air Force officials and was escorted in a motorcade under U.S. security cover. After the meeting, the Prime Minister returned to New York, where he is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly.
