President Zardari approves permanent appointment of 11 LHC Judges, tenure extension of one additional judge

Islamabad (Web Desk): President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, has approved the permanent appointments of 11 additional judges of the Lahore High Court. Following this approval, the Ministry of Law has issued an official notification confirming their permanent status as judges of the court.

According to the Ministry of Law, after receiving the President’s consent, the 11 additional judges have now been permanently appointed, while an extension of six months has also been granted to Additional Judge Justice Tariq Mehmood Bajwa regarding his tenure.

Sources suggest that the decision to make the judges permanent and to extend their tenure was made in accordance with constitutional procedures and based on the recommendations provided by both the Judicial Commission and the Parliamentary Committee. The process followed the established legal framework for judicial appointments and extensions.

With the issuance of the official notification, these judges are now expected to assume their new roles and continue their duties in line with their permanent appointments. The extension granted to Justice Tariq Mehmood Bajwa also reflects the court’s ongoing efforts to ensure the smooth functioning of judicial responsibilities.
