Lahore (Web Desk): Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif held an important meeting with Oscar-winning Pakistani-origin filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, during which detailed discussions were held on the proposed establishment of a “Punjab Film City” within the Nawaz Sharif IT City project.
During the meeting, CM Maryam Nawaz praised Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s outstanding achievements at the international level and lauded her expertise in documentary filmmaking.
She said that individuals who bring global recognition to Pakistan are a valuable national asset.
Maryam Nawaz further stated that the Punjab Film City project would provide local talent with world-class facilities and help introduce modern technology in the field of film production.
She emphasized that the initiative aims to strengthen the creative industry and open new opportunities for filmmakers in the province.
The discussions also focused on enhancing cooperation to ensure the successful execution of the project within the framework of Nawaz Sharif IT City, which is expected to become a hub for innovation and media development in Punjab.
