Pakistan strongly condemns drone attack on chinese nationals in Tajikistan

Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan has strongly condemned the drone attack in Tajikistan that resulted in the deaths of three Chinese nationals. The Foreign Office stated that the use of an armed drone in the attack underscores the growing threat posed by Afghanistan and the underlying elements behind it.

According to Tajik officials, three employees of a Chinese company were killed on Thursday near the Afghanistan border when a drone, along with firearms and grenades, was used in the assault.

In a statement issued on Friday, Pakistan's Foreign Office termed the attack a cowardly terrorist act and expressed solidarity with China, Tajikistan, and the families of the victims. The statement also emphasized:

"Pakistan has consistently stressed that Afghan territory should not be used for terrorism against its neighbors or any other country. The presence of terrorist elements under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban government remains a serious concern for the region and the international community."

The Foreign Office further stated that action against the terrorists, their facilitators, and financiers operating from Afghan soil is the only solution to addressing this growing threat. Pakistan also reaffirmed its commitment to working with China, Tajikistan, and other regional partners to promote peace, stability, and security.

Tajikistan and Afghanistan share a 1,350 km long mountainous border, which remains a hotbed of insurgent activity. Tajikistan has repeatedly raised concerns about the rising extremism and the damage to border stability caused by Taliban actions.
