Interior Minister Naqvi visits FC Training Centre in Shabqadar, inspects Anti-Riot’s Wing exercises

Charsadda (Web Desk): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a visit to the Federal Constabulary (FC) Training Centre in Shabqadar on Friday, where he reviewed specialised drills conducted by the Anti-Riot Wing and appreciated the personnel for their professional abilities, contemporary training and preparedness for field operations.

During his visit, Naqvi watched a range of practical exercises performed by Anti-Riot Wing personnel. The drills showcased their ability to manage crowds, secure sensitive sites, respond to violent situations and maintain peace and order.

“The Anti-Riot Force has been trained on modern lines and is fully prepared and capable of dealing with any law-and-order situation,” Mohsin Naqvi said.

The interior minister made it clear that the government would not permit any individual or group to disturb peace, stability or law and order anywhere in the country.

“Peaceful protest is the right of every citizen. The law clearly defines the procedure for holding protests, and no one has any objection to peaceful demonstrations conducted within the framework of the law,” he said.

At the same time, Mohsin Naqvi cautioned that protests could not be used as a cover for violent acts, vandalism, destruction of public or private property or activities that disturb law and order.

He said the state would continue to perform its duty of protecting peace and maintaining order, adding that anyone who attempted to bypass the law would be dealt with according to legal provisions.

“The role of the Federal Constabulary is extremely important across the country in the prevailing law-and-order situation,” Mohsin Naqvi said.

Speaking to the personnel, the minister called on them to remain prepared for every type of situation and challenge.

“You have to be ready to face every kind of challenge. Complete your training with full dedication and enter the field with complete professional preparedness,” he said.

Naqvi said FC personnel were being supplied with advanced protective equipment that complied with international standards so they could remain safe while performing duties in the field and maintain their operational effectiveness.

He also ordered authorities to ensure that gas masks were supplied to every member of the force. “You have been given special attention in your training. Complete every aspect of your training with hard work, dedication and a complete professional spirit,” he said.

The interior minister also revealed plans to upgrade recreational facilities at FC headquarters, including the construction of a world-class swimming pool.

During his inspection of the barracks, Naqvi interacted with FC personnel and asked them about the difficulties they were encountering. He subsequently instructed officials to rebuild all washrooms at the FC headquarters.

“You had raised the issue of load-shedding during my previous visit. What is the situation now?” the minister asked the personnel.

The personnel informed him that load-shedding was no longer taking place and that electricity was now being supplied without interruption. They also expressed their appreciation to Naqvi for resolving the issue.

The minister ordered immediate action to facilitate the medical treatment of the cancer-stricken mother of one of the FC personnel.

A briefing given to the minister revealed that the training programme had brought together trainees from all provinces, as well as Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. For the first time, 35 women personnel have also been included in the programme.

The Inspector General of the Federal Constabulary, Deputy Inspector General (Training), Director of the Federal Constabulary and other senior officers were also present during the visit.
