World Day for Safety and Health at Work observed

Islamabad (Web Desk): World Day for Safety and Health at Work is being observed today (Monday) across the globe including Pakistan.

The aim of observing the day is to highlight the need of the safety and health of workers keeping in view of the hazardous impacts of climate change.

This year’s theme is, “Revolutionizing Health and Safety: The Role of AI and Digitalization at Work.’’

The day this year will focus on the impacts of digitalization and artificial intelligence on workers' safety and health.

The idea for this global movement was initiated by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in 2003 with an aim to reduce accidents and work-related illness.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed the commitment to promoting the well-being of every worker across all sectors.

In his message on the occasion of World Day for Safety and Health at Work, he said the Government remains committed to strengthening frameworks that protect workers' rights and safety.

PM Shehbaz reiterated the important role of all stakeholders including employers, workers, policymakers, and innovators, in creating future-ready workplaces where technology and human values go hand in hand.
