Lahore (Web Desk): The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has announced significant steps to protect the environment and reduce air pollution. In a meeting of the Anti-Smog Cabinet Committee, it was decided that the production of petrol-powered motorcycle rickshaws in the province would be banned.
The committee also decided that all government departments would now only purchase electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as electric motorcycles. Strict penalties will be imposed on the burning of plastic and other materials that produce toxic smoke, ensuring no leniency when it comes to protecting public health and the environment.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that these measures are essential for safeguarding the health of citizens and the environment, and the government is committed to ensuring their implementation.
