DPM Dar urges international community to halt Israeli violations in Palestine

Jeddah (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has called on the global community to take firm measures to stop Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Speaking at the Open-Ended Extraordinary Ministerial Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Executive Committee, he stressed the importance of enforcing international law and honoring commitments previously made in good faith to the group of eight Islamic nations, including Pakistan, regarding Palestine.

Ishaq Dar described the meeting as occurring at a moment of extraordinary significance for the Palestinian cause, which he said continues to be a central concern for the Muslim world and a key responsibility of the OIC.

He warned that the unfolding events carry serious implications, not just for Palestinians, but also for the credibility of international law, the UN Charter, and the wider multilateral system.

The deputy prime minister strongly criticized Israel’s repeated breaches of ceasefire agreements, expansion of illegal settlements, and annexation attempts, asserting that these actions undermine diplomatic efforts and threaten the prospects of achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.

He said that such violations encourage further aggression, destabilize the region, and trample upon the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people. He specifically condemned Israel’s latest moves to convert parts of the occupied West Bank into so-called state property.

Highlighting Pakistan’s active role as a member of the UN Security Council, the Board of Peace, and the Group of Eight Arab-Islamic countries, Ishaq Dar urged the OIC to push for the reversal of all Israeli measures amounting to de facto annexation.

DPM Dar called for strict enforcement of the Gaza ceasefire, immediate reconstruction of the territory, and a time-bound political process that would lead to the creation of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

He further urged the OIC to strengthen efforts to secure the right of self-determination for the Kashmiri people.
