DPM Dar in Saudi Arabia to attend OIC moot on Israel's illegal West Bank measures

Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday arrived in Jeddah on a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia to participated in the Open-Ended Extraordinary Ministerial Session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He was received at King Abdulaziz International Airport by Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the OIC Fawad Sher, Pakistan's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Farooq and Consul General in Jeddah Syed Mustafa Rabbani.

The ministerial gathering is set to be held tonight at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah.

The session has been called to examine what member states describe as unlawful actions by Israeli occupation authorities, including steps to broaden settlement activities, push forward annexation efforts, and seek to impose Israeli sovereignty over the Occupied West Bank.

At the meeting, Pakistan will outline its stance on the recent moves by Israel to designate parts of the Occupied West Bank as “state land.”

The discussions are expected to centre on the broader implications of these measures and the collective response of OIC countries.

In addition to addressing the session and conveying Islamabad’s viewpoint on the situation, the deputy prime minister will also engage in separate bilateral consultations with his counterparts from various OIC member states on the sidelines of the conference.
