Pakistan condemns Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, reaffirms support for Somalia and Palestine
Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan has strongly voiced its opposition to any moves that compromise the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Somalia.
In a statement, Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi condemned Israel’s recent declaration recognizing the so-called independence of Somalia’s Somaliland region.
He described the announcement as both unlawful and provocative, warning that it not only undermines peace and stability in Somalia but also threatens the broader region.
Andrabi called on the international community to take decisive action against such measures and to ensure that Israel does not obstruct ongoing efforts to foster peace and security in the region.
He reaffirmed Pakistan's firm commitment to Somalia’s territorial integrity and expressed support for initiatives aimed at achieving enduring peace in the country.
The FO spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering rejection of any attempts to forcibly remove Palestinians from their land.
He underscored Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people in their pursuit of self-determination, advocating for a sovereign and independent Palestinian state within the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
