PSL 10 Final: Lahore Qalandars defeat Quetta Gladiators by 6 wickets to clinch third title

Lahore (Web Desk):  Lahore Qalandars secured their third HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) title with a thrilling 6-wicket win over Quetta Gladiators in the final of PSL 10. The high-stakes encounter took place at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium, where a packed crowd witnessed an intense battle between two of the league’s top teams.

Quetta Gladiators won the toss and opted to bat first. Their innings concluded at 201 for 9 in 20 overs, setting a competitive target. Rising star Hassan Nawaz was the standout performer, smashing 76 runs off just 43 balls. Avishka Fernando contributed 29 runs, while Dinesh Chandimal added 22. In the death overs, Faheem Ashraf played a quickfire cameo, scoring 28 off only 8 deliveries.

From the Qalandars’ bowling unit, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi led by example, claiming 3 crucial wickets. Salman Mirza and Haris Rauf also chipped in with 2 wickets apiece to restrict Quetta from reaching an even higher total.

In response, Lahore Qalandars chased down the 202-run target with composure, sealing victory in the final over. The win crowned them PSL champions for the third time, further solidifying their reputation as one of the league's most dominant sides.

This final was the second face-off between the two teams in the season. Lahore had convincingly won the first encounter by 79 runs, while their second scheduled match was washed out due to rain. In total, the two sides have met 19 times in PSL history, each winning 9 matches, with one ending without a result.

Fakhar Zaman finished the season as Qalandars’ top scorer with 442 runs, while Quetta’s former captain and current team director Sarfaraz Ahmed has scored a total of 357 runs against Lahore in his PSL career.

With this win, Lahore Qalandars now hold three PSL titles, surpassing several teams in championship wins. In contrast, Quetta Gladiators have only lifted the trophy once in their PSL history.
