Rawalpindi (Web Desk):In the fourth match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, Lahore Qalandars set a daunting target of 220 runs for Quetta Gladiators. The match was held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where Lahore Qalandars batted first, putting up a total of 219 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Earlier, Quetta Gladiators won the toss and elected to field. Lahore Qalandars, starting their innings with Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Naeem, lost Naeem early for just 10 runs. However, Abdullah Shafique played a quick knock of 37 runs before being dismissed.
Fakhar Zaman, who anchored the innings, completed his half-century, scoring 67 runs off 39 balls, which included 3 sixes and 7 fours. Daryl Mitchell contributed 37 runs, while Sikandar Raza managed just 6, and captain Shaheen Afridi was dismissed for 3.
In the final moments, Lahore Qalandars' wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billingz played a quick-fire knock, scoring 50 runs off 19 balls, and remained not out, ensuring a competitive total for his team.
For Quetta Gladiators, Aqeel Hussain and Abrar Ahmed each took two wickets, while Faheem Ashraf and Usman Tariq claimed one wicket each.
It’s worth noting that Quetta Gladiators won their first match of the tournament by defeating Peshawar Zalmi by 80 runs, while Lahore Qalandars were defeated by Islamabad United in their opening match.
