President, PM urge nation to highlight true message of Ashura, promote harmony

Islamabad (Web Desk): neo tv  President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have urged the nation, particularly religious scholars, media organizations, and young people, to promote the true teachings of Ashura by fostering inter-sect harmony, mutual respect, and national unity.

In his Ashura message, President Asif Ali Zardari described the tragedy of Karbala as more than a historical event, calling it a timeless symbol of courage, sacrifice, and moral guidance for people of all generations.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Ashura remains one of the most significant days in Islamic history, offering lasting lessons in faith, patience, resilience, and selfless devotion to justice.

He added that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), through his unwavering stand at Karbala, demonstrated that defending truth, justice, and human dignity is far greater than surrendering to tyranny, oppression, and falsehood.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of drawing inspiration from the values of Karbala to strengthen unity, tolerance, and peace across society.
