Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan defeat Bangladesh by 43 runs

Abu Dhabi (Web Desk): Pakistan has secured a spot in the final of the Asia Cup T20 2025 after defeating Bangladesh by 43 runs in a crucial Super Four match. The final will be held on Sunday, where Pakistan will face arch-rivals India.

In Thursday's high-stakes match, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field first — a decision that initially paid off. Pakistan suffered early setbacks, losing opener Sahibzada Farhan for just 4 runs, followed by Saim Ayub who was dismissed for a duck on the very next ball.

Despite the shaky start, Pakistan managed to post a total of 135 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Muhammad Haris top-scored with 31 runs, while Mohammad Nawaz and Shaheen Afridi contributed 25 and 19 runs respectively.

In response, Bangladesh’s chase started on a disastrous note, losing their first wicket with just 1 run on the board. Parvez Hossain Emon was dismissed for 0, followed by a steady collapse of the batting order.

Towhid Hridoy (5), Saif Hassan (18), Mehidy Hasan (11), Nurul Hasan (16), Zakir Ali (5), and Shamim Hossain (30) failed to anchor the innings, as the entire team was bowled out for 92 runs.

Pakistan's bowlers maintained tight control and took regular wickets, never allowing Bangladesh to recover.

With this commanding victory, Pakistan has officially booked their place in the final of the T20 Asia Cup 2025. The much-anticipated final against India will take place this Sunday in Dubai.
