PM Shehbaz, Bilawal discuss regional situation and national security

Islamabad (Web Desk): Amid deteriorating conditions in the Middle East and growing national security challenges, Pakistan’s top political and military leadership convened for a high-level consultation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Pakistan and Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, held a crucial meeting to discuss Pakistan’s potential role as a mediator to prevent confrontation between the United States (US) and Iran.

The key meeting, held at the Prime Minister House, saw participation from both federal and provincial leadership.

Sindh Chief Ministers Murad Ali Shah and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti attended the meeting specially, receiving briefings on border security and regional implications.

Emergency measures to ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum products were also discussed as part of the contingency planning.

According to sources, the government is considering launching an active diplomatic initiative to reduce tensions between the US and Iran.

Pakistan intends to offer itself as a “neutral mediator” to resolve misunderstandings between the two brotherly nations.

Prime Minister Sharif is also scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari this evening to finalize this key diplomatic move.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, the finance minister, the petroleum minister, and senior military officials are likely to attend the meeting to assess the potential impact of any conflict on Pakistan’s economy and energy reserves.
