Doha (Web Desk): The Afghan Taliban on Thursday expressed willingness to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan if an invitation was extended by Islamabad.
The announcement, made from the political office in Doha, quoted Taliban Spokesperson Sohail Shaheen who said that if PM Imran extended a formal invitation, they shall accept it.
“We frequently visit countries within the region and would surely go to Pakistan, too, which is our Muslim neighbour,” he said.
The statement by the Taliban came after the premier’s maiden visit to the United States. The Afghan end-game remained the focus of high-level meetings between PM Imran and President Donald Trump.
