Pakistan responds forcefully to unprovoked Afghan Taliban’s firing at border 

Islamabad (Web Desk): Afghan Taliban forces opened unprovoked fire along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Torkham and Tirah sectors, prompting a swift and effective response from Pakistan’s security forces, officials said on Tuesday.

According to security sources, clashes erupted at three separate points along the frontier, with the exchange of fire continuing for nearly an hour.

All personnel of the Pakistan Army remained safe during the confrontation. In retaliatory action, Pakistani forces targeted an Afghan check post, which was completely destroyed, the sources added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s spokesperson for foreign media, Musharraf Zaidi, stated on X that any further provocation would be met with an immediate and firm response.

He emphasized that Pakistan would take all necessary measures to safeguard its territorial integrity and protect its citizens.

The spokesperson reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to defending its borders and warned that any additional escalation would draw a strong and decisive reaction from Islamabad.
