Bannu (Staff Report): A polio worker was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district on Wednesday, police said.
Cantt police identified the deceased as Rafidullah, a former supervisor of the polio campaign in Bannu.
According to police officials, the attackers were riding on a motorcycle that opened fire at the health worker and then fled the scene.
Police reached the spot immediately after being reported regarding firing incident. The victim was shifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Further investigations are under way by the local authorities.
